The Story

Hello, fellow crystal lover! My name is Rebekka. I am the founder of Bekkathyst, and the jewelry creater and designer of all Alpenhexe jewelry collections. If you're interested in learning a little bit more about me and my company, read on!

My crystal journey started at a young age. I grew up in a house filled with minerals, but it wasn't until I was gifted the book Love is in the Earth: A Kaleidoscope of Crystals around age twelve that I become completely enthralled with the magic of stones. I spent my summers buying old jewelry from thrift stores by the pound and learning how to deconstruct them and turn them into new pieces of my own. (Of course I did this when I wasn't busy wandering miles from home, exploring the wilderness of undeveloped land outside our small rural Southern California neighborhood!) My love of jewelry never faded, and in 2013 I started my first little online store.

My store is now run by me and my wonderful husband, Antonio. (And our toddler Luna "helps" in her own way, too!) While I curate pieces and make jewelry, Antonio deals with carefully wrapping and shipping your orders.

As a small, family-owned business, it is very important to us to support miners and cutters who are also family owned businesses. We aim to carefully and responsibly source our crystals and support those whose ethics align with our own.

When it comes to my jewelry, it is very important to me to use the highest quality natural gems. I like to focus on highlighting the best that nature has created by keeping my wire wrap designs simple and organic. When it comes to my copper electroformed works, I love to create eleborate, unique works, heavily inspired by the dark fairy tales of my childhood.

I am an Austrian and US dual citizen. While I have spent the last 20 years of my life in the US, we have made the decision to move our family to Austria, where we now maintain this business.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey!
